At 30 Third Street, The Trolley Building gives new life to the former Allen, Slade & Company headquarters, a four-story red-brick landmark built circa 1909–10. Once home to a major regional wholesale grocer, coffee roaster and spice grinder, the building later served generations of downtown businesses and public offices. Its tall windows and soaring ceilings now frame 18 one- and two-bedroom loft residences above first-floor professional space, pairing warm chestnut cabinetry and bronze finishes with a central location across from the post office.
